The online MTM game is a tricky one (especially for suits), but for a little over 150 bucks, Suit Row lets you give it a try on the cheap. For those who are not familiar with Suit Row, they are based out of London and place a focus on British and Italian tailoring. Co-founder, Kevin Turton (great guy by the way), gained his experience working for Savile Row giant, Gieves & Hawkes.
Right now, they have dropped their prices for their introductory line from 149GBP to 99GBP, which is an unbeatable price if you want to try out online MTM. I have talked with Mr. Turton much about Suit Row, and he assures me that the focus on classic tailoring separates his brand from the competition. I have a suit on the way for further review!
They also offer a “Made in England” line that offers luxury fabrics (Scabal, Brook Taverner, Zegna, Harris Tweed etc.) and a more traditional Savile Row bespoke service. Right now they are primarily focused on the UK market, but has plans on venturing out to offer this service around the globe.
Bottom Line: for just over 150 bucks you can have a MTM suit that focuses on the wonderful sartorial traditions of British and Italian tailoring. Do not make the common mistake of expecting a $1,000 suit for a mere fraction of the cost, but you can expect a great fitting suit that has been made with attention to the detail.
